Report: Rangers star valued 180 times the amount he arrived for as French giants plot move - originally posted on Sportslens.com
According to France Football (via GFFN), Ligue 1 giants Marseille are interested in signing Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara this summer and are could pay up to £9 million for his signature.
The Ibrox outfit signed the Finland international from Dundee in January 2019 for just £50,000, but his value has since skyrocketed and he is now worth 180 times of what they paid for him.
Kamara has since established himself as a key player for Rangers, featuring in 32 Scottish Premiership games to date.
The Arsenal youth product caught Marseille’s eyes during the Euro 2020 qualifying campaign and still very much remains on their radar.
However, the French side will have to balance the books before attempting to land Kamara.
Rangers value the 24-year-old highly, but they might not be able to hold on to him for much longer with Premier League sides also keeping tabs on him.
Sheffield United, Arsenal, Brighton Crystal Palace, Burnley, Aston Villa and Leeds United were all linked with Kamara in January, while Juventus are also said to be keen after he impressed their scouts during Finland’s qualifiers against Italy.
He could be on his way out of Ibrox this summer as he isn’t short of suitors, and it will be interesting to see if Marseille can beat still competition to his signature.
