He shot into the limelight in 2007 with the release of his single, “Mo Like Jesu Gaan”. The song gained so much popularity and was played in both churches and clubs. Riding on the success of the single, Dekunle Fuji released his album, “No Problem (No Lele)” in 2008. He received as much applause for this album as he did for the single.

In 2010, he released a new song titled “My Friend” featuring Midnight Crew and Proverbs. The video of the song also had a cameo appearance for the beautiful Shaffy Bello. He also worked with artistes like Cobhams and Ikechukwu.

In 2011, he travelled to the United States for a performance and decided to settle down there. He applied for a nursing course and finally finished the course in 2013. News about his certification quickly spread across town.

Meanwhile, as he worked as a nurse in the US, he continued performing at churches and crusades where he got paid up to about $5000. However, it seems that the singer turned nurse may be planning a comeback to the industry.

Although still based in Maryland, US, the singer has been hanging out with other gospel artists like Jumbo, Dara and Tim Godfrey. He started appearing in more Nigerian entertainment events towards the end of the year and was spotted at the Merry Men premiere in the United States. He has also shared clips on his Instagram playing snippets of some new songs he had been working on with ID Cabasa.

Dekunle Fuji seems to seriously be planning a comeback, and we can’t wait to see what he does next. Good luck to him!
