The season of love is upon us, folks. Every year across the globe, millions of people celebrate love on February 14, also known as Valentine’s Day. You might have plans and you might not – either is fine – but what you need regardless is great entertainment and DSTVs new show Ultimate Love is where it’s at. The show, which is the first Nigerian reality show centered around love, debuted on Sunday, February 9, 2020 and social media went bonkers.
In the spirit of love, here’s all you need to know about Ultimate Love, the newest, hottest reality show on air right now:
- The show is hosted by Nollywood actor Dakore Egbuson-Akande and media personality Oluwaseun P.
- The aim of the show is to get contestants, called Love Guests to find love. Simple enough.
- There are 16 love guests (8 men and 8 women) and they will live in the house – called the Love Pad – for eight weeks.
- While in the love pad, love guests will be given tasks and activities geared towards helping each contestant find their ultimate love. Pun intended.
- Unlike Big Brother Naija’s Biggie, a voice-only character, Ultimate Love will have veteran broadcaster Adesua Onyenokwe as a counselor called “Aunty”. She will physically interact with the contestants and hopefully guide them to finding true love.
- The Ultimate Love contestants will also get to enjoy the services of four butlers in the love pad. Big flex.
- The love guests names are: David, Chris, Rosie, Arnold, Obichukwu, Kachi, Jenny, Louis, Jay, Nkechi, Theresa, Michael, Cherry, Ebiteinye, Bolanle, and Iyke.
- At the end of the line, the winning couple will get an all-expense paid high-end traditional wedding and a fully furnished house, if they decide to get married.
Coming off the success of the Big Brother Naija reality show, Ultimate Love might have to carve its own corner in the hearts of Nigerians. Where BBNaija focused on personalities, Ultimate Love is taking a go at playing Cupid – which is much harder than it sounds. That said, Multichoice’ expertise at reality shows could be a big boon for this new format. We’re in for a ride, that’s for sure!
