Chelsea have reportedly agreed a deal to sign N’Golo Kante from Leicester City. The French midfielder is all set to sign a five-year deal at the London club.
According to French newspaper Le Parisien, Kante is one the verge of a move to Chelsea after a €35m fee was agreed between the two clubs.
Kante reportedly has a €26m release clause but Chelsea have paid over the odds so that there’s no way Leicester can prevent him from joining the Blues. The report claims Kante is now close to joining Antonio Conte’s men and the deal could be concluded within the next few hours, which basically means within the next few days.
Earlier today, The Telegraph reported that Leicester City are ready to make Kante their best-paid player in an attempt to prevent him from leaving the club.
Leicester have already offered the midfielder a lucrative £100,000 a week which Kante has turned down. The Premier League champions are now preparing to make an improved offer for him.
