The month of love is approaching and of course you’re probably wondering where to spend time with Le boo. You want to go all out but at the same time you don’t want to break the bank. I have curated a list of restaurants you can try out and still get that romantic feel of valentine or a perfect date and TGIF night.
Ofada Boy
Are you a legit foodie? Then you must have heard people talk about Ofada boy. It’s a traditionally themed restaurant with a blend of boujee. They are known for their famous Ofada rice and palm wine amongst other meals. The aesthetic ambience is very beautiful and airy. What a perfect moment to stare into your loved one’s eye. One thing I love about Ofada boy is the calabash used to serve their meals. It makes you feel that old school traditional village vibe. Their palm wine is also definitely a treat and comes in different flavors which of course is amazing. If you want to dine on a budget this is one of the places to visit.
Olaiya
This is by far the hottest Amala spot in town. So aside from all the romantic vibe, if you want to dig in properly with Le boo. You should visit Olaiya. You would think that this should look like the regular buka spot, but no Olaiya’s ambience is the beautiful checkered walls with very simple aesthetic ambience. This is definitely a must visit for all my Abula lovers.
Cream Slices
Do you’ll love to have something different at a little cost?. Or you want to enjoy more this valentine on the smallest budget of all time?. This place is for you. Cream slices is definitely on a budget hangout. Your first step into this place and you are drowned into a new world of ice cream and pastries. The cozy house of creams is divided into two sections, the first part which is outdoors and the inner part which has a romantic feel, beautified with lights dropping from the ceiling. You would almost feel like you’re sitting under the mistletoe with those lights over your head. The varieties of ice cream go for as low as 500 naira. What more can you ask for.
The Purple Bistro
As the name sounds, you definitely are expecting it to be expensive but that is not the case. In the heart of ‘Yaba’ this restaurant is a perfect place for a TGIF Friday hang out with bae. I personally feel that the meals are too good to be be that cheap. They go for as low as 1500. Just like other bistro’s, this as well is very colorful and distinct. From the entrance to the main restaurant is just beautiful. Absolutely I recommend.
Zolene Dining
The cozy atmosphere, distinct paintings on the walls and elegant setting of the classy restaurant and gorgeous bar. There are many sides to this restaurant, which is the sitting area that allows for board games, the eating area set for dates, a covered sitting area meant for groups or those who want privacy. This warm atmosphere is the best place you can chill on a Friday night.
Hua Han
You are probably wondering what’s with the name, this one is for all my Korean lovers. The decoration and setting of this restaurant would get you mistaking it for a flower shop because of how lovely it is. The lights engulfed in artificial plants as they dangle down through the ceiling. The restaurant is divided into four different eating areas; the main restaurant, an enclosed room a room for large guests and the flower shop, oh yeah there’s a flower shop in it. If you need a break from our Nigerian jollof this is the way. And just the perfect way to wow your boo. What I specifically like is how the meals are prepared on top of your table. Of course that is dependent on the meal you want but It gives you a feel of Shiro experience.
Rufus and Bee
The perfect goofy spot. You want to go on a casual date night and you don’t know where. I got you. The perfect gaming spot to play around and still get to know each other. With the dim lights, you could still have an atmosphere that you desire. After the games there’s a sidebar just beside it where you can eat or drink. Although it doesn’t have that privacy that you want but if you need your privacy, there’s a rooftop which has beautiful views for a perfect way to end the night.
Grand Lux Lekki
You can’t miss the Grand Lux Lounge because of the bed of roses and other flowers which is decorated outside. My first thought on this restaurant is simple, ORGANISATION. This is because of separated parts. The first part houses its fast food section. Which has the least expensive meals that go for as low as 1500. Then there’s the room all painted in purple, I call it the perfect date night setting. The first floor has more sections; the ‘Green colored room with checkered floor, artificial green plants, green chairs and the ‘Black, White and Yellow room’ or the ‘Buffet Place’, This place has it all.
Do I need to say more? What I love the most these restaurants is that it caters to all forms of spending from a budget or spend it all. Which makes it perfect for anyone no matter your budget. Whether it’s a TGIF night or a romantic getaway, these restaurants got you covered.
