Arsenal plot move for La Liga star, club demands €30m for winger - originally posted on Soccerlens.com

Arda Turan joined Barcelona last summer but due to transfer ban imposed on the Catalan club, he couldn’t make his debut until January 2016.

The Turkey superstar enjoyed four great years with Atletico Madrid and won the La Liga and Copa del Rey with the Rojiblancos before moving to Barcelona. He was never going to be a regular starter, as it is hard to imagine any player to dislodge either of Neymar, Suarez and Messi from the starting role.

In Turan’s case, the frustrating part is, he has failed to make an impact even from the bench. For a player of his calibre, a lot more is expected from him. Well, of course, it was his first season and he didn’t enjoy a good pre-season, and things can change in the second year. That is, if at all, he stays for another year at the club.

His future has come under speculation at the club after Barcelona have signed Denis Suarez earlier this month and there are suggestions that he could be heading to the Premier League.

According to Spanish newspaper AS, Premier League giants Arsenal are one of the few top clubs interested in signing the 29-year-old attacking midfielder.
Turan will shortly return for pre-season training and he will discuss his future with Barcelona boss Luis Enrique. The report says the Catalan giants would demand €30m for him should he leave the La Liga champions.
Wenger to manage England?
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said he wants to fulfil his commitment to the London club but hasn’t ruled out the possibility of managing the England national team in the future.
Wenger has been in charge of Arsenal for almost 20 years and he has 12 months to run on his current deal. However, he is uncertain where his future lies beyond that and potentially could take charge of England in the future.
“Could I manage England, why not? I would never rule that out, but I am happy and focused in club football,” he said in an interview with beIN Sports. “England is my second country.

“I have one more year to go with Arsenal and I have been with them for a long time. I have always respected all my contacts [throughout my career] and will continue to do that. What will I do after that? Honestly, I don’t know.”
