Completesportsnigeria.com's IZUCHUKWU OKOSI presents the African Team of the Week. These players stood out last weekend from an African perspective. There will be midweek games after the close of the January transfer window in some leagues in Europe but over the weekend a lot of African players had great performances for their clubs in league and Cups  games

GOAL

Carlos Kameni

Cameroon's Carlos Kameni was in goal on Saturday in Malaga's 2-1 away win against Eibar at the Ipuria Stadium.

Kameni had 39 touches of the ball and distributed at the rate of 22.7. He was mostly solid in dealing with one-on-one shots but made some ill-timed decisions when coming out of his area to claim  aerial balls a couple of times.

DEFENCE

Mohamed ElMohamady  

Egyptian right back Mohamed Elmohamady was lively and efficient for Hull City who defeated Bury 3-1 in their fourth round FA Cup game on Saturday. Elmohamady was in action for 90 minutes at the Gigg Lane and aside his defensive duties was always a threat on the right wing with his probing runs. 

Zargo Toure 
Zargo Toure was Man-of-the Match in Lorient's 2-0 home win over Reims over the weekend. The Senegalese scored both goals and played for 90 minutes. He had impressive defensive performance all through the game. Toure made one tackle, three interceptions and eight clearances on Saturday.

 Syam Ben Youssef 
Tunisia's Syam Ben Youssef had an excellent game on Saturday as Caen defeated Nice 2-0 at home. The central defender made two defensive tackles, five interceptions and 11 clearances in the game.

Youssef blocked one shot and committed two fouls. He also had two accurate long balls from his defensive position into the opposition half and completed 10 passes.

 Faouzi Ghoulam      
Algerian left-back, Faouzi played from start to finish in Napoli's 5-1 bashing of Empoli at the Stadio San Paolo on Sunday. Ghoulam made two tackles and two interceptions in the game with a 87.9% pass accuracy.

The defender has made 19 Serie A appearances this season, starting in 18 of them.

MIDFIELD

Cheick Ndoye 
Cheick Ndoye was Man-of-the-Match in Anger's 2-0 home win against AS Monaco at the  Stade Jean Bouin on Saturday. The giant Senegalese defensive midfielder who surprisingly did not make a move away from Angers in the January transfer window despite some big European clubs casting their eyes towards his direction has thus scored seven goals in 20 Ligue 1 appearances. Two of his three shots were on target, he made two key passes and had 47 touches of  the ball. 
Ndoye completed 36 of his passes and defensively made one interception and four clearances.

M'Baye Niang      
Senegalese striker M'Baye Niang was impressive in AC Milan's3-0 home win against city rivals, Inter Milan, at the Guiseppe Meazza Stadium.The youngster scored the last goal for the former UEFA Champions League winners in the 77th minute. Niang also weighed in with an assist in the game. He had 43 touches of the ball and had 79% pass accuracy.

Kelechi Iheanacho      
Nigeria youngster Kelechi Iheanacho scored a hat trick in Manchester City's 4-0 away win over Aston Villa in the 4th round of the English FA Cup on Saturday. 

The goals takes his FA Cup tally to four this season. He also provided the 'acrobatic assist' for Raheem Sterling's goal. It was Iheanacho's first hat trick for City. Iheanacho plays in the midfield role for his attacking and playmaking abilities. 

Vincent Aboubakar     
Indomitable Lions of Cameroon international Vincent Aboubakar scored a goal in a 90th minute performance for Porto in their 3-1 away win against Estoril on Saturday.The forward who plays in an attacking midfield role which he does for his country efficiently was yellow-carded in the 68th minute has now scored three goals in the Portuguese top flight this season.
Aboubakar takes up one of the attacking midfield spots in the African Team of the Week.

ATTACK

Cheick Diabate
Malian striker Cheick Diabate scored a brace and was officially handed the Man-of-the-Match award in Bordeaux's 4-0 hammering of Rennes. Diabate's aerial dominance on Sunday evening was a constant headache for the Rennes defence at his club's Stade Bordeaux Atlantique.  He was on target in the 29th and 51st minutes of the match. Diabate has now scored five Ligue goals this season.

 Pierre Emerick-Aubamayang 
African Footballer of the Year Pierre-Emerick Aubamayang scored a brace on Saturday in Borrusia Dortmund's 2-0 win against Ingolstad at the Signal Iduna Stadium. The goals takes Aubamayang's tally to 20 in the Bundesliga this season, thus is the leading top scorer in the Germany top-flight.

The Gabonese had five of his six shots on target in the game. He had 29 touches of the ball and completed 13 of his passes which were 38.5% accurate.
