IMO state governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has endorsed a new management team for Heartland FC of Owerri.

The governor who had to wade into the leadership crisis rocking the club approved the appointment of Oscar Keke as the new General Manager of the team with Tonex Chukwu as team coordinator.

Okorocha’s seal of approval was conveyed in a letter addressed to the chairman of Imo Task Force on sports, Ugonna Ozurigbo. The letter was signed by the governor’s Principal Secretary, Paschal Obi. The new image maker of the club, Solomon Onu confirmed yesterday that the club has since notified the League Management Company (LMC) of the latest development, even as he added that the club, under the new management, has stepped up preparations for the 2016 Glo Premier season billed to commence next month. “We have started our build up for the 2016 season and the government is giving the club maximum support. Oscar Keke is fully in charge and everything is moving on well. The LMC has been informed officially of the changes in the club,” Onu stated.

If the latest development is anything to go by, the Okey Ibeh led management that piloted the affairs of the club last season has lost out in the power tussle.
