Report: Leeds players want £20m-rated star Liverpool are genuinely interested in to sign ER deal - originally posted on Sportslens.com
According to Football Insider, Leeds United players continue to constantly urge centre-back Ben White to put pen to paper on a permanent deal as he nears the end of his loan term.
The 22-year-old arrived at Elland Road on a season-long loan from Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion in July, and he immediately hit the ground running.
He has since established himself as a regular in Marcelo Bielsa’s side, playing every minute of the Championship campaign thus far.
White is set to return to his parent club at the end of the season, though, and is already attracting a couple of top-flight sides following his impressive campaign at Leeds.
While securing Premier League promotion will boost Leeds’ chances of landing him, they may have to part with around £20 million if they want his signature on a permanent basis.
According to The Athletic’s Phil Hay, Brighton now value White in the region of £20 million, and it will be interesting to see if Leeds will be keen to meet their demands and asking price.
Given his huge talent and massive potential, the Premier League big boys won’t hesitate to part with such a fee, though, and it’s safe to say the Whites have fierce competition to challenge in the race for White signature in the coming months.
