Actor Nkem Owoh is not showing any sign of slowing down as an exceptional thespian as he bags another nomination at the 7th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).
Over 30 years after he made his debut as an actor, Nkem Owoh is still making waves and getting recognition for his impressive roles in movies.
Owoh has been nominated in the ‘Best Supporting Actor in a Movie or TV Series’ category at the AMVCA. He will compete for the prize with other movie industry veterans, Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD) and Ramsey Nouah, as well as new generation actors, Pascal Tokodi and Reminisce.
The actor narrowly missed out in the same category in 2017, with his film, “Ghana Must Go”, losing to Rotimi Salami.
Owoh, who first made a name for himself with his role in the rested TV drama, ‘Things Fall Apart’ in 1987, bagged the AMVCA nomination for his role in the movie, “God Calling”.
In the movie, he played the role of Papa Francis and brings a whole lot of humour that adds spice to the movie.
RMD earned a spot in the category for his role in the movie, “Seven”, while Ramsey Noah features for his role in “Living in Bondage”. Rapper Reminisce is nominated for his impressive role in Kemi Adetiba’s blockbuster, “King of Boys”, while Pascal Tokodi is recognised for his role in ‘Disconnect’.
The ‘Best Supporting Actor in a Movie or TV Series’ category is one of many tough categories at the 7th AMVCA, which will be held on March 14, 2020.
Other categories to watch out for at the award ceremony are: ‘Best Director’, ‘Best Actor in a Drama(Movie/Series)’, ‘Best Actress in a Drama(Movie/Series)’ and many more.
