Kemi Adetiba has been teasing fans and audiences about a possible follow up of her groundbreaking thriller King of Boys. She took to Instagram on the 14 of January to announce the count down to the release of the first official teaser of King Of Boys 2.
We all remember how electric the streets were when King Of Boys first came out, it was indeed a tsunami of response and reviews on social media. The gangster-themed movie tells the story of the power tussle of a businesswoman and philanthropist with growing political ambition named Eniola Salami (played by Nollywood veteran Sola Sobowale)
The near 3-hour movie went on to win AMMA 2019 Award for Best Nigerian movie. The movie also picked AMMA Award for Best Actress in a leading role (By Sola Sobowale) and Best Actress in a Supporting Role by (Adesua Etomi-Wellington).
Kemi Adetiba is Back! And we can’t wait to see what she will do with King Of Boys 2, based on what Kemi has been tweeting and posting on socials and what we saw in KOB1 here are a few things we hope to see.

Resurrection
Based on what Kemi has tweeted, there will be a resurrection from the dead. The KOB director said in her tweet;
“So, finally tackled the scene where Makanaki and Odogwu Malay meet (read as confront) each other for the first time in KOB 2.
So most definitely Makanaki is coming back!

Did Odogwu Malay really kill Makanaki? Based on Kemi’s tweet she said there would be a confrontation between Makanaki and Odogwu Malay.

Resurrection and Love
It is really the Year of Return as Kemi herself had tagged it on her post on Instagram. We are also predicting the return of Eniola Salami adopted daughter Kemi. We saw her get shot in the movie but we still don’t know what favour Kemi asked Tiger (the Bodyguard) to do which was not revealed in the movie. We predict that Kemi will come back and join forces with the inspector Shehu played by Sani MU’AZU to take down those after her mother and as we all know inspector Shehu lost his wife to cancer while trying to rescue Eniola. And we think they might just hit it off.

A Prequel or Sequel?
On Tuesday, September 2019, Toni Tones had hinted that there will be a prequel to KOB2, she also confirmed that the prequel has been commissioned but did not share what platform commissioned it. We also know for sure that Kemi Adetiba has said that KOB2 is back. Whether it’s a sequel or a prequel we do not know but what we do know for sure is that either of these two will be released this year. We also can’t wait to see Toni Tones bring all the energy to this role.

Collaboration
King Of Boys was added to the library of Nigerian movies. There might be some Netflix collaborations in view as Kemi was seen at the Netflix headquarters in Los Angeles, this might have been to discuss plans for a collaboration for the next movie.

Director and crew
Kemi already has a team that works. Although we do not sure if she would be using the same crew. Kemi will most likely remain the director of this new movie.

Release Date
When it comes to pulling the crowds Kemi knows how to do this well. Over the years Kemi has taken advantage of the holiday season to fuel excitement, the end of the year will also give the team ample time for the shooting, production and marketing. So we think King Of Boys 2 will be released at the end of the year (fingers crossed) who knows, Kemi may just pull a surprise on us all!
