Keeping Your Hands Clean is The Secret To Your Wellbeing

Have you ever woken one morning to a large pimple on your forehead, with absolutely no clue how it got there? It’s probably from your hands picking up germs all day and those same hands touching your face.

Over the course of 24 hours, we are engaged in various activities, depending on our lives and responsibilities, but no matter who we are or what we do, we move from one place to the other.

Touching people, spending money, using the bathroom, working on your laptop, pressing your phone, everyone is busy. What we are also doing, is coming in contact with germs and bacteria throughout the course of the day, over and over again.

In between all of these, we yawn when we’re tired and because we have good manners, we cover our mouths, we rub our eyes, we sneeze into our hands, we eat. Our hands are all over our bodies. But they not only touch us, we use them for several other things outside our bodies. The hands are the most mobile part of your body after your legs.

The germs we pick up during the day — from doing makeup, going to the gym, working on your phone and laptop don’t just fall off. If left unwashed, these germs are transferred from our hands, to other parts of the body, and sometimes get ingested.

Wash your hands properly (with Dettol soap and water) as often as possible or use a Dettol hand sanitizer. Wipe down your work surfaces and phones with Dettol wipes. Keep your makeup brushes clean by a weekly wash with Dettol. Washing your hands properly does not take more than 30 seconds, but this simple act prevents a multitude of infections and diseases – Cold, Diarrhoea, Typhoid, Pinkeye (apolo), Gastrointestinal infections and so on.

We take washing our hands for granted, and that’s because we don’t know how much that simple act of washing or not washing the hands can determine a number of things. It’s a seemingly trivial act, but with a long-lasting effect. Keeping your hands clean is protecting the rest of yourself from avoidable infections and diseases.
