Laptop: You can’t work from home without a laptop, you can try to, but we bet that you would not be able to work on tasks as freely as you would want to without one, so get yourself a laptop, set it up, and bring your ideas to life from home.
Internet: Instead of spending 3 hours on the road to a place that is only 45 minutes away for a 30 minutes meeting, good internet will help you have that meeting via video call and save you time, stress and money. It will also make it possible to research quicker and do great work.
Good Electricity and a back-up generator: We all know that the electricity in Nigeria is manageable (at best). This means that if you are opting to work from home, you must have a back-up electricity plan, like a generator to keep your laptop and internet powered throughout the day.
A To-do List or a Schedule: If you know that you don’t want to end up spending the whole of your work-day watching TV or doing other things, you have to be deliberate about setting daily tasks to complete with deadlines on when to have finished working on them.
A workspace: There is a ‘magic’ trick that happens when you start working and you are laying in bed that just makes you fall asleep or slack off. To avoid that, you must set up a workspace to help you get into ‘business’ mode so it can be easier to work on daily tasks.
