While Oprah Winfrey is still the richest woman in the entertainment industry, Rihanna is the richest female musician alive thanks to Fenty Beauty.
Rihanna launched Fenty Beauty in 2017 and it is estimated to be worth more than £3 billion as of now and is still expected to grow with her new partnership with luxury fashion brand – LVMH.
While Rihanna is breaking boundaries as the richest female musician in the world, she also recently created a new record as the first woman of colour to lead an LVMH fashion house. Aside her makeup brand, Fenty Beauty, she also owns Savage X Fenty lingerie line with Los Angeles-based online fashion firm TechStyle Fashion Group.
She made the America’s self made women list as number 37 and is the second entertainer on the list and the third for cosmetics. As an entertainer, she came in second after Oprah Winfrey and third as a cosmetics maker after Anastasia Soare of Anastasia Beverly Hills and Huda Kattan of Huda Beauty.
Other entertainers on the list included Judy Sheindlin ($440 million), Kim Kardashian West ($370 million), Ellen DeGeneres ($330 million), Reese Witherspoon ($240 million) and Serena Williams ($225 million).
Rihanna is not just in the money making business as she was named the humanitarian of the year by Harvard University for her Clara Lionel Foundation in 2017. During an interview last month, she said that she was not making all that money for herself, but for her future kids, her family and the people she provides jobs for.
