FG Declares Tuesday, Wednesday As Public Holidays For Eid-el-Fitr



The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared a two-day public holiday on Tuesday, June 4 and Wednesday, June 5 to mark the 2019 Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Mrs. Georgina Ehuriah made the announcement on Friday, May 31 on behalf of the government in Abuja.

Ehuria congratulated the Muslim faithfuls for successfully completing the Ramadan fast and wished them blessings as they partake in the Eid-el-Fitr celebration to mark the end of Ramadan.

Speaking on the significance of the celebration,  she urged all Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for peace, unity, prosperity and stability of Nigeria.

The two days holiday is expected to be observed by all Nigerians across the country.
