For the first time in nearly three decades, the biggest award night in movies, The OSCARS may be held without a host, making it one of the most radical reinventions in the awards show’s long history.

Those familiar with the new plans say the Academy is now considering to select a crop of A-list personalities who will introduce various segments of the ceremony instead of relying on a prominent name to set things off.
With just six weeks from the live show — on Feb. 24, the producers and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the group behind the Oscars, are racing against time to line up top talent needed to carry the telecast.
Except for anything changes at the 11th hour, no new offers are out, nor anyone expected to be made to a single potential host to fill the vacuum left by comedian Kevin Hart, who resigned from hosting the glamorous event hours after being selected as he refused to apologize past homophobic tweets which resurfaced on Twitter.
Some of the high-profile names being tipped to be part of the cast of host include Lady Gaga, Dolly Parton, and Kendrick Lamar, one individual involved with the show said.
Hart shut down any idea that he might be brought back to host during his Wednesday sit-down on “Good Morning America,” emphatically stating that he would not rescind his earlier decision.
“I’m not hosting the Oscars this year,” said Hart. When asked if he will host in the future he said, “It’s hard to predict what can happen,” he added.
This will be the second time in history the renowned awards show will be without a host since 1989.
