‘Kevin Hart Is So Sorry’ – Comedian Finally Offers Fresh Apology Over Past LGBTQ Tweets

American comedian and actor, Kevin Hart, has offered a fresh apology, this time in the third person — for his past anti-gay statements but is yet to disclose if he would rescind his decision to back down on hosting the 2019 Oscars.

“Once again, Kevin Hart apologizes for his remarks that hurt members of the LGBTQ community. I apologize,” Hart said during his radio show on Monday, according to reports.

The awarding winning actor stepped down from hosting the Oscars in early December following huge criticisms over homophobic tweets he had sent years wich resurfaced online. Hart initially did not apologize for the statements — arguing that he had done so at the time — and quit the hosting gig as criticism against him grew.

But on Monday, Hart changed his stance.

“We thought it was okay to talk like that, because that’s how we talked to one another … This is wrong now,” Hart said on the XM radio show. “Because now we’re in a space where I’m around people of the LGBTQ community, and I’m now aware of how these words make them feel, and why they say ‘That s–t hurt because of what I’ve been through.’”

Hart’s latest apology is coming days after comedian Ellen DeGeneres tried to convince him to change his mind on hosting the ceremony when he made an appearance on her talk show.

“I called the Academy today because I really want you to host the Oscars,” DeGeneres said on the episode, which aired last Friday.

“’We want him to host, whatever we can do, we’d be thrilled,’” DeGeneres said the Academy told her. “The Academy is saying, ‘What can we do to make this happen.’”

Hart has however responded that he was “evaluating” his decision and also assured Ellen that he doesn’t have a “homophobic bone” in his body.
