A Twitter user recently stirred a lot of debate yesterday after she shared a detailed thread of events during her marriage engagement.

The lady presumably from the Yoruba tribe revealed that against popular beliefs and customs and in agreement with her and her now-husband, decided not to engage in the long-standing cultural practice where brides are required before their partners as a sign of ‘submission’. She tweeted:
