Photos: Arsene Wenger Arrives In Liberia To Receive Country’s Highest Honour From President George Weah



Former manager of Arsenal football club of London, Arsene Wenger has arrived in Liberia ahead of being awarded the country’s highest honour by his former player and the Country’s president George Weah.

The 68-year-old arrived on Wednesday and was received by Liberia’s minister of Youth and Sports after landing in the country.

President Weah will be inducting the Frenchman into his country’s Order of Distinction and given the title as the Knight Grand Commander of the Humane Order of African Redemption for his contribution to sports in Africa.The award ceremony will take place in the capital, Monrovia, on Friday.

George Weah is the only African to have been named World Player of the Year, claiming the honour in 1995 and retired from football in 2003 before becoming a politician.
