As the Russia 2018 FIFA world cup is gradually reaching its climax, club football is expected to resume in 4 weeks and already many players have returned back to base as teams have begun their pre-season training routine.
Tottenham Hotspur, who finished an impressive third in the Premier League last term, welcomed back first-team players as preparations for the new campaign started on Monday. However, they will still have to wait till the end of the weekend before their full squad is complete as nine of its players are still in Russia on national assignment for their various national teams.
The London club’s stars have enjoyed an excellent World Cup especially with English Captain and striker Harry Kane who currently leads the goals chart. Also, Dele Alli has been very impressive throughout the tournament.
Others include French goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, Kieran Trippier, Danny Rose and Eric Dier on duty with England while Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Mousa Dembele who are still with the Belgium squad.
The world cup ends on July 15 and hopefully, the players will make it back on time as the new EPL season kicks off on August 10 with their first game against Newcastle on August 11
