In only six months, Despacito by Luis Fonsi featuring Daddy Yankee has become the most streamed song in history.
The reggeaton hit was released on January 12 and has topped radio charts in more than 40 countries in the world, including Nigeria. The song has been streamed a whopping 4.6 billion times, pushing Justin Beiber‘s Sorry to second place.
The song has become a fan favourite with its soft guitar strains and the exotic Spanish lyrics. Interestingly the lyrics have been criticized for being overtly raunchy when translated into English.
That does not seem to bother the millions of people who have streamed it multiple times.
