This homeless man turned his underbridge abode into a guest house, charges N4,500 per night

What do you do when life gives you lemons? You make lemonade! That’s exactly what a homeless man in Los Angeles is doing with his spot under a major highway.

Ceola Waddell has constructed an elaborate living quarters that he is now renting out to tourists and passers-by.

In a video he recorded, the unlikely ‘motel’ is seen to have all the amenities of a regular house, with two toilets, two refrigerators that serve as ‘jacuzzi’ bathtubs when filled with water, a guest bed and a snack bar.

He calls his abode ‘Paradise Lane’ and says it’s been dismantled by city officials several times in the last six months that he has lived there.

Although he told a newspaper that he realises the danger that living there portends, he’s clearly making the best of a very bad situation. For instance, he charges another homeless man $25 a week to rent a tent there.

Not bad.
