Liverpool Team News & Preview
Liverpool host Tottenham in the EFL cup this week and the Reds will be looking to extend their fine run of form with a win at home.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have had an impressive start to the season and will look at the EFL cup as an ideal opportunity to win some silverware this season. Last season, they were beaten by Manchester City in the finals and they will be looking to go the distance this year.
Liverpool have already played Spurs in the Premier League earlier this season and the match ended in a 1-1 draw. The Merseyside giants have done well against Spurs at home and will be hoping for a similar result tomorrow.
Liverpool have a fully fit squad to choose from. Georginio Wijnaldum could finally start the game after missing out against Manchester United and coming on as a late substitute against West Brom. Sakho and Gomez are lacking in match fitness, but both defenders have recovered from their injuries.
Predicted Liverpool Starting Lineup (4-3-3): Karius; Clyne, Matip, Lovren, Milner; Henderson, Wijnaldum, Lallana; Coutinho, Firmino, Mane
Tottenham Team News & Preview
Tottenham have had a mixed start to their season so far. The Londoners started really well, but have struggled to win games lately. Too many draws will have put Pochettino under some pressure and this will be an ideal opportunity for his side to get back to winning ways.
Spurs have a very poor record against Liverpool and will be determined to fix that. They have conceded eight goals in their last three visits to Anfield.
They have drawn their last three games in all competitions and will need to improve their attacking play in order to win games.
Harry Kane and Toby Alderweireld are both expected to miss out for Spurs.
Predicted Tottenham Starting Lineup (4-1-4-1): Lloris; Walker, Dier, Vertonghen, Rose; Wanyama; Sissoko, Alli, Eriksen, Son; Janssen

Liverpool vs Tottenham Prediction
Tottenham are a very good side and have a similar philosophy to that of Jurgen Klopp’s. Both sides like to play with intensity and there will be plenty of pressing on display here.
Spurs will make themselves hard to beat, but they are simply not good enough going forward. Liverpool have a top quality attack and should be able to find a way past Spurs’ resistance. A home win seems likely.
