Conte drops major hint, more or less confirms centre back will complete Chelsea transfer - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has dropped a major hint that the young centre back Matt Miazga will complete a loan transfer away from the club soon.
The former MLS defender is still not ready for the Premier League and therefore Conte wants the player to go out on loan and play some regular first team football.
Miazga is very highly rated at the London club and the Italian is aware that the player will need a lot of game time if he is to fulfill his potential.
“I think in this moment it is good if he plays to improve, to go and get experience to improve,” the Italian said. “You can improve only if you play.
“You play every game or a lot of games during the season. But he is a good guy and I am very happy about him.
“Miazga is a young player, he has a good technique and I think that he is working very well under the physical aspect, but the tactical aspect he can improve a lot and I think that he is improving with the work.”
The 21 year old was signed from the New York Red Bulls for £3.5 million in January, Miazga has played twice in the Premier League.
So far there has been no mention of potential suitors, but it should not be hard to find a suitable club for a talent like Miazga. The young defender is up against the likes of Cahill, Terry, Zouma and Ivanovic and therefore unlikely to get sufficient first team action this season.
Furthermore, the Blues are looking to sign the likes of Koulibaly and Mustafi as well if reports are to be believed.
A loan away from Stamford Bridge would be idea for the young centre back. He will be able to continue his development without being put under too much pressure at a top club.
