Newcastle United have completed the signing of Arsenal player Isaac Hayden.
The 21 year old defensive midfielder can also operate as a centre back and is viewed as a great utility option.
Rafa Benitez continues to build his own team at Newcastle and the Spaniard will be delighted with the additions so far. The likes of Mitrovic, Ritchie, Perez, Gamez, Sissoko are all good enough to bring Newcastle back to the Premier League in 12 months time.
Hayden has signed a 5 year contract with Newcastle United and will be looking forward to developing as a player with more first team action.
The Arsenal academy graduate has been capped by England at youth level, but he struggled to establish himself as a first team player at Emirates.
The versatile midfielder revealed his delight after completing the move and said that he is looking forward to helping his side get back into the Premier League.
He said: “Newcastle is a massive football club and to be given the opportunity to come here and progress my career is fantastic. I needed to move on and so when Newcastle came in for me I jumped at the chance. I am still young but I want to get as many games under my belt as I can and help the team bounce back to the Premier League.”
Rafa Benitez added: “We continue with our plan to bring in players who are hungry to succeed and prove themselves, which Isaac really is.”
“He is also a player who can play in different positions, which is very useful. Isaac is a young, strong English player with fantastic potential but also with some experience already of the Championship. We welcome him to the club.”
Hayden spent last season on loan at Hull City and is fully aware of the challenges and demands of the Championship.
