From France: Manchester United considering shock move for £35m Arsenal target - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
It seems like Moussa Sissoko is the player in demand at the moment. He is almost certain to leave Newcastle United this summer and several top Premier League clubs are vying for his signature.
Sissoko has had a poor 2015/16 domestic season with Newcastle but has made a strong impression in Euro 2016 with France earning high praise from all corners. Initially, he was in the first team plans of Didier Deschamps but forced his way into the starting XI from knockout rounds and was terrific in the final against Portugal.
Initially, he was not in the first team plans of Didier Deschamps but forced his way into the starting XI from knockout rounds. He was brilliant against Iceland and Germany and was one of the best players on the pitch for France against Portugal in the Euro final.
Rafa Benitez, the Magpies manager, wants him to stay at the Tyneside club but it is highly unlikely he would want to play in the Championships next season.
Sissoko has made himself clear that he would prefer to join Arsenal, while Premier League giants Liverpool are equally interested in securing his services. We don’t know yet whether the Gunners would be genuinely interested in signing him, as Arsene Wenger has already signed a top central midfielder in Granit Xhaka but the possibility of him joining Arsenal cannot be completely ruled out.
According to an exclusive report from Le 10 Sport, Manchester United are the latest club to have shown an interest in Sissoko, who would cost around £35m. The Red Devils have earmarked him as a plan B option in case they fail to sign Paul Pogba from Juventus this summer.
Sissoko is a decent player no doubt but is he really good enough to represent Manchester United? It will be a really shock move if Jose Mourinho opts for him this summer.
