Deal agreed for 6ft 2in physically imposing star, player completes Liverpool transfer - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
Liverpool keeper Ryan Fulton has joined the League one side Chesterfield on loan for next season.
The highly talented academy star is ready for some first team action at a higher level and will continue his development as a footballer at Chesterfield.
Latest report claims that Chesterfield have signed the player on a season long loan.
Chesterfield’s first choice keeper Tommy Lee has been ruled out for the start of next season due to shoulder injury and Fulton is expected to replace him in goal right away.
The British keeper was on loan at Portsmouth last season and made 13 appearances for them, before picking up an injury.
With the likes of Karius, Mignolet, Ward, Bogdan already at the club, Liverpool will never be able to provide Fulton with the game time he needs to continue his development.
The 20 year old has previously admitted that he is aware of the fact that he might not play regularly at Anfield and therefore he is willing to go out on loan.
He said: “I want to be a regular and enjoy my time playing football. “Liverpool is a great club to be at but it’s a lot different when you start playing first-team football, you realise it is so much bigger and better. Liverpool want me to go out on loan, which is great as it’s a chance for me to try to impress, but at the same time show my worth to Liverpool.”
Fulton has impressed for the under-21 side and was rewarded with a new deal back in December 2015.
The Scottish keeper is 6 feet 2 inches tall and provides a commanding presence in between the sticks.
Although Fulton is yet to make his first-team debut with Liverpool, the Scottish keeper has already been a part of the Liverpool match day squad, making the first team bench on four occasions.
Fulton is quickly becoming too good for the under-21 level and needs the challenge to continue his development and fulfill his potential. A move to Chesterfield will give him much-needed experience and confidence.
