France opened their Euro 2016 campaign with a hard fought 2-1 victory over Romania on the opening day. Although, Les Blues picked up three crucial points, but they were far from convincing and it required a late strike from West Ham striker Dimitri Payet to seal the victory.

Payet’s astonishing performance was one of the major talking points from that match. France looked a much more balanced unit when Juventus midfield Paul Pogba was taken off and Payet moved to no 10 instead. There are suggestions that Didier Deschamps might consider dropping Pogba and Atletico star Antoine Griezmann in favour of starting Anthony Martial and Kingsley Coman when France face Albania on Wednesday.

In such a scenario, France would revert to a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Payet operating behind the central striker. Although such a drastic change is highly unlikely, as Deschamps would hardly want to disrupt the dressing room harmony by dropping two of his biggest stars after just one game.

Albania, on the other hand, are heading into this match on the back of 1-0 defeat at the hands of Switzerland in their opening game. They put in a spirited performance against the Swiss despite playing with a 10-man for a major part of the game, after their skipper Lorik Cana was sent off for two bookable offences.

Burim Kukeli played as centre-back following Cana’s red card, but Gianni De Biasi could field a proper central defender against France and change his system to 4-5-1.

Albania recorded a 1-0 win over France in a friendly when the two sides last met in 2015 and will be looking to pull up a shock result again. France are choc-a-bloc with talented players at every position and are one of the favourites (6/1 to reach the Euro final with Ladbrokes) to win the tournament. Olivier Giroud scored the opening goal against Romania, and back the Arsenal striker to score the opening goal again at 7/2 with Ladbrokes on Wednesday.

Possible France Starting Line-Up: Lloris; Sagna, Rami, Koscielny, Evra; Kanté, Matuidi; Pogba, Payet, Griezmann; Giroud.

Possible Albania Starting Line-Up: Berisha; Hysaj, Ajeri, Mavraj, Agolli; Kukeli, Xhaka; Roshi, Abrashi, Lenjani; Sadiku.
