Man Utd target's agent flying in to seal move; major club move finalised - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
Manchester United have completed a major move this afternoon. Manager Louis Van Gaal has been sacked after a disappointing season this year.
The Dutch coach will leave along with his staff now. The Premier League giants are expected to replace Van Gaal with the former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho.
The Portuguese manager has been out of a job since the end of 2015 and will take charge at Old Trafford later this week.
Van Gaal failed to challenge for the title despite signing loads of new players and spending vast sums of money. The Dutchman also failed to qualify for Champions league football for next season.
According to latest reports, Mourinho’s agent is heading to Manchester tomorrow and a deal could be announced by Wednesday.
Jorge Mendes is in China now and will complete the formalities before Mourinho is presented as the new manager of Manchester United.
As for Van Gaal’s sacking, there has been no official conformation yet.
United are expected to make a statement at 1 pm BST – the same time as the New York Stock Exchange opens. As per their regulations, if a new manager is going to be appointed or someone is sacked, the club has to announce it there first.
