As well as silverware for the winners, a spot in the 2016/17 Europa League is up for grabs for the FA Cup winner as well as entry into next season’s domestic opener, the FA Community Shield, against Leicester City who won the 2015/16 Premier League.

Manchester United and Crystal Palace are both gearing up for the most important match of their respective seasons, with the FA Cup Final – the oldest cup competition in football – a huge occasion for fans and players alike.

The match, which will be the 135th final of the FA Cup, will be a repeat of the 1990 FA Cup Final in which Manchester United beat Crystal Palace 1-0 in a replay after the first tie ended in a 3-3 draw. It will be Palace’s second ever FA Cup Final berth and Manchester United’s eighteenth, with the Red Devils having won the trophy eleven times – just less win than Arsenal, the most successful team in the history of the competition.

United’s last FA Cup Final victory came in 2004 when they defeated First Division side Millwall 3-0.

2016 FA Cup Tickets:

More than 57,000 tickets have been afforded to both finalists to allocate to their respective fans this year. This represents a significant increase in designated tickets, with many complaining about the number of seats reserved for the wider footballing community in past finals rather than them being made available for fans.

Due to overwhelming demand, Manchester United conducted a first phase ballot for tickets. This has now been completed, with only season ticket holders who have purchased tickets to all ten home FA Cup games this season successful.

A second ballot will take place on May 11th with the club announcing that they again expect prolific season ticket holders to be successful.

Crystal Palace have entered phase four of their own process of selling tickets, with only paid members who were registered by Sunday 24th April, with 100+ loyalty points, permitted to apply at one ticket per paid member.
