Top Yoruba actor and national president of Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Producers’ Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Dele Odule, who recently celebrated 20th wedding anniversary with his wife, Olabisi Odule, has shared the secret behind their marital success.

In an interview with YES MAGAZINE, the Oru, Ijebu-born actor said, ‘God sustains marriage. But the only person that actually makes it sustainable is the woman. So, she has done excellently well in that regard. She has done so much to make sure that the marriage is still intact. Because if she has to go by the way an actor would have lived, ah! (laughter). We are from different school of thoughts. I am from the acting, she is a legal practitioner. So, you can see that we are not from the same field.’

The role interpreter, who became famous on the heels of his role in ‘Ti Oluwa Ni Le’, a blockbuster produced by Kareem Adepoju aka Baba Wande and Mainframe boss, Tunde Kelani, went on to reveal how he met his 46-year-old wife.

‘I met my wife in 1988, we had our first child in 1991, though he’s late now. The boy is late now. We got married officially 20 years ago. We got our first child before we actually went to the altar. I met her when she was just a young girl. She just left secondary school then,’ he said.

Dele, who holds a degree in Mass Communication from Olabisi Onabanjo University, started acting in a drama group called Oloko Theatre Group under the mentorship of Mukaila Adebisi in 1986. He has since features in over 200 Nollywood movies.
