Late Yoruba actor, Alasari’s widow dies 5 years after his death

It’s another period of grief for those in the creative industry in Abeokuta, Ogun State, as one of the widows of the late Yoruba actor, Ahmed Ishola Durojaiye popularly known as Alasari, Adeola, ended her sojourn on earth  after a motor accident on Friday, April 22, 2016.

Adeola was reportedly crushed to death by a truck in Adatan area of Abeokuta.

According to Sunday Tribune, the mother of one was coming down on a motorbike when the incident occurred and she was said to have died on the spot.

An eyewitness stated that the truck rammed into the woman from behind which resulted in her death.

‘The truck crushed the woman from behind as she was trying to disembark from an okada. She died instantly,’ the eyewitness said.

The incident was confirmed by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi.

He said, ‘The accident occurred at Car Wash in Adatan on Friday, where a truck crushed a woman to death. We later got to know her identity as the wife of the late Yoruba actor and movie producer, Ahmed Ishola Durojaiye popularly called Alasari.’

One of late Alasari’s close friends, Bolaji Amusan aka Mr Latin also confirmed the news to NET saying, ‘It is a sad news. She died on Friday at Adatan after a truck hit her. She was actually coming from a bank when the accident occurred.’

‘She is Alasari’s second wife. People got to know her after the death of Alasari. She has a son for him. She will be buried tomorrow in Alasari’s house at Elega, in Abeokuta,’ he added.

Late Alasari died on March 20, 2011 at Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Abeokuta, where he was admitted following a ghastly accident he was involved in on Lagos-Abeokuta expressway.

The actor, who was known for his herbalist cum comic roles in movie, was said to have been riding in his Pathfinder car in company of four of his aides when the accident occurred. The other occupants reportedly survived the accident.
