A family in Zimbabwe woke up to the shock of their lives after they found a dead dog with a red cloth tied around its neck in their yard.
According to H-Metro, Chipfatsura Mutande the landlord suspected this was an act of juju targeted at one of his tenants. The dead dog was pierced with a hunting knife while its neck was wrapped with a red cloth and by its side were words written on ground; siyana nemurume wangu.
The landlord said:
I have seven tenants and I suspect this is directed at one of them, the words written next to the dead puppy suggest it is directed to a woman.
“This all adds up to an incident that took place the day before yesterday when a woman came and attacked one of my female tenants and claimed she is an ex-wife to the tenant’s husband,” said Mutande.
Dzidzai Mushoshore, 20, who is believed to be the one targeted was convinced that her husband’s ex-wife is the one responsible.

“Since the day I started living with Taurai Sinati, his ex-wife has been a problem.
“Two days ago my husband got arrested after she claimed he stole her phone and US$20, right now my husband is in custody I feel she could be responsible for this.
“I feel she is after my life, and I believe her juju is real because every time she visited to get money for her child’s upkeep, I would fall sick the following day.
“She even threatened me the day before yesterday after I tried to explain to her that my husband had not stolen her phone.” said Mushoshore
Mushoshore went to the police to try and bail her husband out using the evidence she thought was relevant to prove her husband’s ex-wife is always up to no good.

The landlord Mutande’s problem was on how to dispose of the dead dog.
“I fear evil spirits which accompany this act will still rest in my yard because these are just tenants they will move to another place but this is my home. How do I feel the comfort of my home when such things have happened?
“This is also bad for business, my house is my source of income, and this is an African society, how do I get other tenants with such a reputation.
Six other tenants stayed indoors to avoid commenting on the issue.
One of Mutande’s neighbours alleged women living at his house were prostitutes, who had a habit of bragging to their customers’ wives that they bed their men.
“This is not a surprise to some of us; these women deserve every bit of what is happening to them,” the neighbour said.

Later on, another tenant identified only as Francisca aka Mai Petty who is believed to be the target of the “dog ritual” sneaked out of her room to consult a prophet on way forward and get a cleansing process. She said:
“I am dating someone’s husband so I suspected his wife to be the one behind this. I know that I am cheating with someone’s husband and the person who dumped the dead dog has warned us over our cheating. I cannot die like the dog.
“I am prepared to spend money to save myself because that person used cash to buy that knife, cloth and the dog because you cannot use a stolen dog.
Francisca disclosed that she separated from her own husband after she was caught cheating and now earns a living through prostitution.
“Ndakarambwa nemurume wangu kare, saka veH-Metro murikudei? Dai wauya zvako taita chigwishu wandipa dollar other than chasing that story,” said Francisca ordering the crowd to leave the place.
Her landlord Chipfatsura Mutande confirmed the incident.
“She came back asking me to allow madzibaba enguwo tsvuku to come for cleansing but I could not quickly allow it.
“I get Mai Petty’s rentals from a married man who lives in Tafara and I am sure that is the reason she panicked. She suspects the man’s wife to be behind this,” said Mutande.
