JJC and Funke Akindele
‘It’s a working relationship’, Biodun Kupoluyi, Funke Akindele’s publicist told TheNETng in a phone interview but over the past few days, news going around say otherwise.
Music act, JJC and Nollywood star, Funke Akindele according to multiple reports are allegedly the latest ‘coded celebrity couple’ in the entertainment industry although this is being kept under top secrecy.
An insider told us the duo have in recent weeks been inseparable while another source disclosed Funke Akindele and JJC, whose real name is Abdul Bello, are ‘deeply in love’.
At the just concluded 2016 AMVCA, Funke, who arrived early for the red carpet session, stepped out while the award was ongoing to usher in JJC who arrived 20 minutes into the award show.
While an insider told us JJC’s late arrival was deliberate to avoid them being sighted together on the red carpet, the duo were together all through the event and left together few minutes to the end of the ceremony.
Just last week, rumours went viral alleging that JJC proposed to the Nollywood star during a video shoot in Lagos although Funke is yet to show off ‘her ring’.
Biodun Kupoluyi however says what the duo share is a ‘working relationship’ as ‘JJC supports Funke’s productions.
‘The fact that two colleagues are seen together at a public event doesn’t mean they are dating. JJC supports Funke’s productions and he also shot Jenifa’s Diary theme video.’
Efforts to reach JJC’s camp for comment has proved abortive.
