UK-based Nigerian medical doctor, Sebastian Kola-Bankole, who has been in critical condition after being hit by lorry in the US, has been flown to England via an air ambulance over the weekend.

35-year-old Bankole, an NHS doctor, had flown out to Los Angeles from his base for his best friend, Alexander Ademokun‘s wedding. He was knocked down by a lorry as he crossed a road off the Sunset Strip in Las Vegas on February 15.
His friends and family, led by Ademokun whom he (Bankole) was his best man at his wedding, turned to the public for help, and set up a GoFundMe page to help raise fund for Dr. Bankole’s treatment.

And under one week of the campaign, over £175,000 was raised for the Nigerian-born doctor who is believed to be a gay.
Announcing his arrival via GoFundMePage, Ademokun said: ‘I’m so pleased to say that Seb is safely back in the UK. He landed this afternoon and has been transferred to intensive care for assessment.
‘I can’t thank you all enough for your support to help bring Seb home, we genuinely wouldn’t be here without all of you. I also want to thank the doctors that looked after him in the US, they’ve done an incredible job and we are all grateful.’
