‘The Revenant’ and ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ were the big winners at the 2016 BAFTAs, beating out Carol’ and ‘Bridge of Spies’, which topped the nominations list with nine nominations each.

The 69th annual British Academy Film Awards held on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at the Royal Opera House in London and the ceremony was hosted by English comedian, Stephen Fry.

Leonardo DiCaprio’s ‘The Revenant’ won Best Actor, Best Director, Best Film, Best Sound and Best Cinematography,  while ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ took home multiple awards including Best Editing, Best Production Design, Best Costume Design and Best Make-up and Hair.

Meanwhile, Brie Larson took home the Best Actress award for ‘Room’, Kate Winslet picked up Best Supporting Actress for ‘Steve Jobs’ and Mark Rylance triumphed in the Best Supporting Actor’s category for his role in ‘Bridge of Spies’.
