It seems like three candidates are emerging out as top favourites to become the next manager for Chelsea: Diego Simeone, Massimiliano Allegri, and Antonio Conte.

According to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio, Chelsea have approached Conte over the potential vacant managerial job at the club. Both parties have met on a few occasions, and it seems the talks have gone smoothly.

Any new manager want to sign players of his choice, and Conte would be no exception to this rule. He would love to bring players he either has worked with or he admires.

According to reports from Sky Italia, Conte would love to bring Roma’s highly rated Belgian midfielder Radja Nainggolan to Chelsea, should he take charge of the London club next summer.

Manchester United were also thought to be interested in signing Nainggolan. Last season, the Red Devils were plotting a £30m bid for the Belgian midfielder, but the deal never materialised.

The player has admitted in the past that he would love to experience the Premier League, should an opportunity arise.

“[The Premier League] is certainly the most talked-about competition in the world. I regularly watch the games of my Belgian friends at Chelsea and Spurs, and there are a lot of world-class players,” he said last year.

Nainggolan has established himself as one of the key players for Roma over the past few seasons, and has slowly cemented his place in the Belgium national team as well. Conte is an admirer of his talent and wanted to sign him during his time at Juventus.

While Roma weren’t willing to sell their key player to a rival team at that time, but the Giallorossi could be willing to sell now should Chelsea come up with a big offer.

Nainggolan’s transfer to Chelsea is likely to happen, should Conte become the next manager for the London giants. The Belgian midfielder would be a terrific addition to the Chelsea squad.
