Guus Hiddink continued his fantastic run of positive results since joining Chelsea yesterday as the current EPL champions condemned visitors, Newcastle United to a 5-1 defeat.
Diego Costa, who played with a mask on his face following a nose injury, opened scoring barely 5 minutes into the game which was doubled 4 minutes later by Pedro who recorded a brace.
Willian made it 3-0 in the 17th minute as Newcastle lost their rhythm and played at the mercy of their host. Chelsea however suffered a set back in the 38th minute as team captain, John Terry had to be ferried away after sustaining a muscle injury.
An undeterred Chelsea however returned in the second half and scored two more goals with Bertrand Traore netting his first goal for the Blues.
