SPIRITUAL leader and Ogirisi of Igbo land, Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka has directed Igbo world over to observe January 12, as Remembrance Day for those who died during the Biafran civil war.

Ezeonwuka said in a statement that their official burial, which held last year under the leadership of Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, must be made an annual affair. “Things of spirits do not give vacuum and must be sustained through yearly remembrance which confirms appeasement to the souls of the departed.

“I want Igbo world over to be proactive. The time to be cowards is over. The burial ceremony done on January 12, 2015 at Ekwueme Square, Awka, in Anambra State was embraced by all and we seriously seek the completion of the proposed war museum, which already got land allocation at Awka for the souls who paid the supreme prize for Ndigbo. “Any one who opposes this should be ready to face the wars of wondering spirits. Remember that all countries and races of the world carry out yearly remembrance for their dead. So, as Ogirisi Igbo, the spiritual leader of Igbo nation, I, hereby, appeal to the entire Igbo wherever they may be to observe January 12 by praying for the souls of all those that died during the war.”
