The Police Command in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) said it had arrested three suspected members of a notorious robbery syndicate on Tuesday.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Anjuguri Manzah, made the disclosure while presenting the suspects to newsmen on Friday in Abuja.
He said that police operatives attached to the Maitama Division in Abuja busted and arrested the suspects, who specialized in robbing victims from banks.
Manzah said that the suspects, who came from Kaduna State, were arrested by Police Operatives after they trailed and broke into the parked car of their victim.
He added that preliminary investigation showed that two members of the syndicate were renowned for their involvement in one chance robbery.
The police spokesman said items recovered from them include a Toyota sienna mini bus, four fabricated keys, one bunch of house keys and dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.
Similarly, he said, operatives of the command had arrested a suspect who specialized in breaking into homes and shops around Lugbe axis of the FCT on Sunday.
He noted that the suspect was arrested after he broke into the house of one of his victims at corner shop, Federal Housing Estate, Lugbe in the FCT, and attempted to cart away some electronics in the house.
He said that items recovered from him were two 55-inch plasma television set, two standing fans, one air conditioner and three mini digital cameras.
Others are six electric iron, a home theatre, one mini video camera, a box containing assorted male and female perfumes, house breaking equipment.
He said that the commissioner of police had ordered the command’s teams of investigators to commence thorough investigation into the cases
