Nigerians have been urged to thank God and prepare for abundant opportunities in all spheres of life this new year.

Making the pronouncement recently during the 2015 Christian Pentecostal Mission (CPM) Int’l thanksgiving at the church’s headquarters in Ajao, Estate, Lagos, the General Overseer, Rev. Obiora Ezekiel, declared that God would lead his people into unlimited opportunities in the new year.

Ezekiel who took the text for his message from Romans 2: 4 during the programme tagged “Victorious Thanksgiving”, stated that God would lead his people into opportunities of business success, academic success and repentance for the unsaved, among other things.

He said: “Prepare yourself for opportunities. When God leads you, he will lead you in a way you don’t expect. God will open a door for you in business and you will hit your target. Not only business jackpot, including academic jackpot. He can lead you into repentance, he can lead you into business success, he can lead you into academic progress. Rejoice for your days are coming.

“God will give you kingdom promotion. Fear no evil in 2016. God will open opportunities you did not dream of to you. Don’t limit the unlimited God.”

In his concluding remark, Ezekiel counselled all God-fearing and law abiding citizens of the country to “go and plan your ways and hand it over to God. He will give you opportunity.”

Speaking on the sidelines of the event, a Senator representing Lagos State in the National Assembly, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, noted that the theme of the programme was apt, considering the successful conduct of the presidential and other elections held in the country last year, including her re-election into the Senate.

Senator Tinubu, who saw hers as a double victory and celebration, was full of gratitude to God. She noted: “For us in the APC, God really gave us victory. So to me, it’s like a double celebration. I’m also re-elected into the Senate. So it’s double victory thanksgiving for me. What people thought wasn’t possible, God made it possible.”

Tinubu who stated that Nigeria was not yet in its Eldorado but still a work in progress, called on all citizens of the country to “put everything they have into this new Nigeria we want to build for ourselves and for generations unborn. We pray that all Nigerians will get involved.”

She further declared: “Every Nigerian is the government. So everybody has a part to play. If we are fighting corruption, it should start from bottom up. It’s not just looking at the top; it has to be everybody. We have to look at the future we want. We know that by the grace of God, things will be possible and Nigeria will be on its feet again.”
